jQuery is a small, fast & feature-rich JavaScript library. The motto of jQuery is "write less, do more". jQuery provides cross-browser compatibility & also cross-platform support, which means that you can use it on any Operating System, Windows, Linux, Mac OS, etc. With the help of jQuery, it is easy to create API's and also traverse and manipulate HTML documents.  It makes animations, effects, event handling, and many more features easy to use with many more features.

jQuery is used in many places to either create websites or web applications. jQuery is used in many top companies that we will see as we move forward in this post.
jQuery is a very powerful tool, that is very useful and provides us many functions.

jQuery was developed by John Resig at BarCamp NYC In January 2006. The jQuery project is headed by Timmy Wilson and is also currently run by a team of developers as an open-source project.

Nowadays, jQuery is a widely used technology. Most of the websites or web apps are build using jQuery.

jQuery 1.0 was released in August 2006.

jQuery 2.0 was released in April 2013.

jQuery 3.0 was released in June 2016.

The latest version of jQuery is 3.6, released on March 2, 2021.
